Virginia Surgical Arts Collects Most Food for Local Food Bank

Virginia Surgical Arts Collects Most Food for Local Food Bank

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- In a contest held by Tidewater Endodontics to benefit the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, several medical offices were asked to collect non-perishable food items.  Virginia Surgical Arts, a maxillofacial surgery office won the competition, collecting just over 237 pounds of food.

“We are ecstatic to play a part in giving back to our incredible local community,” said Dr. Sergio Vendetti of Virginia Surgical Arts. “We rely on the community to find our patients, so we felt compelled to show our appreciation.”

Their patients also got involved to support the Food Bank, bringing in food items for discounts on cosmetic procedures. Food items were collected until August and donated in September.

“The fall months are a wonderful time to pay it forward,” said Foodbank Community Engagement Coordinator, Candice Burton. “The holiday season is quickly approaching, as is the need of food insecure individuals to provide for both themselves and their households.”

The contest collected a total of 752 pounds of food, making 647 meals for the Food Bank. Virginia Surgical Arts, which offers oral and cosmetic facial surgery, as well as medical grade skincare, donated their winnings back to the Food Bank to add to the overall meal count.

The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore has been providing food for hungry people throughout Southeastern Virginia and on the Eastern Shore since 1981. Virginia Surgical Arts have been serving Hampton Roads since 2006. They have previously won awards from the Virginia Pilot and Coastal Virginia Magazine, and have been featured on local TV stations, including WVEC-ABC 13.

Caring For Your Under Eyes

Do You Know How To Treat Your Under Eyes?

The skin below your eyes has its own set of skin care “rules.” It’s uncommonly sensitive, thin, and, for better or worse, is often a window into your overall vitality for others to see. Have you had someone say to you “Are you okay? You look tired today,” just because the skin under your eyes is a little puffy or the under-eye circles are darker than normal for some reason? The eyes and eye region show it all.
