IPL Rosacea and Acne Treatment

"The idea is for the patient to look like themselves. I help patients recapture their youth."

- Sergio Vendetti, MD, DMD

The Palomar intense pulsed light (IPL) Photofacial offers comfortable and effective treatment of rosacea and acne damage. Rosacea’s inflammation of cheeks and face, and acne’s pits and scars respond to IPL after only one treatment, although additional sessions may provide more benefit. Skin tone will be more normal, with less pronounced redness within one week after treatment.

IPL Acne treatments are perfect for patients with stubborn acne breakouts that do not respond to prescription medication and other treatment modalities. Our Palomar light device concentrates the light into individual pulses which target acne-causing bacteria. This results in a decrease of acne lesions by approximately 40%. This modality of treatment offers patients a long remission time between sessions without any drug-related side effects. The IPL acne treatment is fairly quick for those patients on a tight schedule and there is no downtime. A series of 6 treatments is recommended for optimal results. Virginia Surgical Arts is proud to be one of the few providers in the area who offer this effective treatment.
